Expertises

Fatma Özdoğan est une architecte et chercheuse accomplie. Elle possède un portefeuille varié de projets au Qatar, en Azerbaïdjan et en Turquie, ainsi qu’une expérience de recherche en Turquie, au Canada, en Colombie et au Liban. Elle détient une maîtrise de l’Université technique Yıldız en Turquie, où ses recherches portaient sur l’intégration de la réduction des risques de désastres dans l’enseignement de l’architecture.

Par la suite, elle a obtenu la bourse Martin Wilkinson à l’Université Oxford Brookes au Royaume-Uni, où elle a entrepris un second master en désastres et développement. Dans ce cadre, elle a étudié les effets de la migration liée aux conflits sur l’urbanisation en Turquie.

 Actuellement, elle poursuit un doctorat à l’École d’architecture de l’Université de Montréal. Ses travaux portent sur les récits de désastres, la gestion des risques et les stratégies de reconstruction en Turquie, ainsi que sur la gouvernance post-inondation au Canada.

Ses intérêts de recherche incluent la reconstruction durable, la résilience urbaine et le développement urbain axé sur la gestion des risques. Grâce à son approche interdisciplinaire, elle cherche à rapprocher les politiques et leur mise en pratique. Son objectif est de proposer des solutions innovantes pour un développement urbain résilient et une reconstruction durable dans les régions exposées aux désastres.

En parallèle, elle enseigne à l’Université Bahçeşehir en Turquie. Elle y donne des cours sur la mémoire des désastres, le développement urbain durable et les études relatives aux désastres.
